We Belong Campaign

The Community Investment for Families Department (CIFD) has partnered with LA Civil Rights and City leaders to launch a new “I Belong. You Belong. We Belong” campaign that sends a clear message to immigrant communities that we are united against hate and discrimination. The campaign also connects Angelenos to resources and up-to-date information to help navigate federal policy changes to protect themselves and their loved ones.

CIFD joined the LA Civil Rights Department for a pre-launch event at California State University, Los Angeles, on September 25. On September 26, the department joined Los Angeles City Councilmembers Adrin Nazarian (CD2) and Hugo Soto-Martinez (CD13) for a press event and Council presentation to officially kick off the campaign.

Earlier this year, CIFD partnered with the Mayor’s Office, LA Civil Rights, and the LA Public Library on a Know Your Rights collaboration to promote rights and resources.

The "We Belong" festivities coincided with the 4th Annual LA is For Everyone Day, an initiative by the LA Civil Rights Department aimed at hate crime prevention. Ten Los Angeles landmarks were illuminated in a vibrant mosaic of colors after sunset.
