NEPA Review
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 requires federal agencies to assess the environmental effects of their proposed actions prior to making decisions and releasing funding. Agencies also provide opportunities for public review and comment on those evaluations.
CEQA Review
The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) of 1970 requires state and local government agencies to inform decision makers and the public about the potential environmental impacts of proposed projects, and to reduce those environmental impacts to the extent feasible.
