CIFD was proud to stand in support of LAUSD Board Member Tanya Ortiz Franklin’s resolution, “With Survivors, Always: Domestic & Dating Violence Prevention, Awareness and Support,” in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The resolution passed on October 14, 2025, and will integrate domestic and dating violence awareness into school safety training for staff and workshops for students; host Family Academy sessions to help parents recognize signs of abuse and access resources; and support student-led prevention campaigns and culturally responsive partnerships.
We are truly grateful to work in partnership with LAUSD on collectively responding to the needs of survivors and strengthening targeted violence prevention. This will positively impact children and youth and will work to reduce the 1 in 7 children nationally who experience abuse or neglect and the 1 in 12 youth who experience teen dating violence.
