CIFD Joins CA Association of Food Banks in Unveiling USDA’s Annual Household Food Security 2023 Report

Our Community Investment for Families Department joined the California Association of Foods Banks (CAFB) on September 5 when they shared the state of food insecurity across California with the release of the USDA's Annual Household Food Security 2023 Report. 

Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, OC Food Bank (Community Action Partnership of Orange County), Westside Food Bank, and host Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) were also represented at the event.  

A sobering 30% of County residents may be grappling with food insecurity, reports a USC Dornsife study.

Food banks are rallying to raise awareness of the ongoing hunger crisis in partnership with the City of Los Angeles. Read the report summary here.
