The Community Investment for Families Department was born out of the need to tackle the inequalities that permeate our city. We are proud to report that in our first year, we have launched some of the most progressive poverty alleviation initiatives in the country. As we showcase our first-year program highlights, we continue the work of serving the community and creating new paths to prosperity!

CIFD Program Milestones July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022: Administered more than $300M in grants and an additional $71M in CARES Act Funding; Adminstered and managed more than 175 contracts; 74,806 people served across programs; 2,927 Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Survivors served; Responded to 27,746 Hotline calls; 1,638 Survivors sheltered; Secured $3.5M Family Homelessness Challenge Grant for Survivors First; Served 434 Households, 645 individuals, and 81% Improved Housing Stability
CIFD Program Milestones July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022 continued: $6.2M distributed in Rental and Utilities Assistance across programs; Prevented 20,330 people from homelessness across programs; 12,310 tax returns filed; $6.4M Earned Income Tax Credit; BIG:LEAP - 3,203 Angelenos received $1,000 per month for 12 months; $21.6M new income generated; 11,859 K-12 students served, 131 Neighborhool Improvement projects; $53M increased household income; 44,363 CSA accounts opened
