Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) Family SourceCenter has been named a 2022 Bank of America Neighborhood Builders Award winner. CCNP was honored for work in removing economic barriers to advance opportunity in the community and will receive a 200K grant over two years.
For more than 20 years, CCNP has supported the most underserved communities within Los Angeles, with a focus on low-income, Latino, immigrant, and BIPOC populations, with wrap-around services that include financial capability and social services to help reduce inequality and close the racial wealth gap. The organization has tripled in size in recent years to support the increased need for its services.
CCNP will use the grant for training and development of its growing staff, and to upgrade its technology as more families now use mobile and digital ways to interact with the nonprofit.
“The formal training and the grant offered through the Bank of America Neighborhood Builders program will allow us to augment the local and grassroots training we provide our staff and help propel our organization’s leadership development to ensure our success for years to come,” said Margarita Alvarez, executive director, Central City Neighborhood Partners.
In Los Angeles, more than 1,300 nonprofits have been selected as Neighborhood Builders since 2004, with the bank investing more than $260 million into these local organizations. The invitation-only program is highly competitive, and organizations are selected by a committee comprised of community leaders and past Neighborhood Builders honorees.
